Hurricane Irene Disturbs U.S. Air travel

As the storms head towards the northeastern shores of US, the air travel is completely disrupted due to Hurricane Irene. Thousands of flights have been canceled over the weekend. Korean Air changed schedules of its routes, also pre cancelled flights to and from New York and delayed Washington bound air travel by three hours.
The air travel got affected to such an extent that nearly two dozen airports in eastern U.S. cities close down including Newark Liberty International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia Airport in New York.
A major irregularity in air travel has been observed in the entire US. Approximately 2,300 domestic and international flights of United Airlines and Continental Airlines were suspended over the last weekend departing from 13 airports in New England including their New York City hubs. The US based airlines hence said they would hope to resume regular air travel from Monday
